Celebrating 50 Years of Prawning Tradition
As the first vessels make their way home, the Exmouth Wild Prawn Festival can officially get underway. The Welcoming of the Fleet is an exclusive invitation-only event celebrating the return of the season’s first prawn vessels and 10 years of MSC-certified fishing practices.
What to Expect
- Spectacle of four Sea Harvest trawlers returning
- Local chefs meeting the vessels
- Prawn canapés and signature beverages
- Exmouth District High School band performing
We’ll gather to watch the first vessels return with their fresh catch of wild prawns. After months of mouth-watering anticipation, local chefs will receive their first samplings of the season. You can get a taste of delicious prawn canapés and paired beverages.
It’s a celebration of the people who’ve made prawning part of the local identity over the last 50 years and the sublime flavour of Exmouth wild prawns.
